  • The author of the is book probably knows what he is doing in regards to running his own particular landscaping business, but he fails miserably in explaining how one should start and prosper in landscaping anywhere outside of rural Maine. There is no general information that might benefit somebody in San Diego, CA, for example. Most of the information regarding actual business practice is sporadic. For example, how to manage is spread in small paragraphs through most of the book, and an can be summed up as ‘don’t over-manage, and take lots of days off’. Very little about building a business up, managing time, bringing in new clients, training, or how to actually START from nothing.

Most of what you’ll get in this book is new-agey, motivational fluff. Visualizing your goals, law of attraction, etc. This is all well and good, but I bought a book called ‘How to start a lawn care business a whole NEW way!”, not ‘Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff’. He even gives advice about diet and recommends prayer!

All in all, it took me forty minutes to read, have no idea how to actually start the business, but I know to set my sights high, because, gosh-darnit, I’m worth it! ;P
